| Concord Real Estate |
Concord a long and colorful history began in the late 18th century. German and Scottish-Irish settlers couldn’t agree on a location for the Cabarrus County seat. In 1795, the settlers finally agreed on a site. The newly formed city was named ‘Concord’ in honor of the effort of the settlers to resolve the dispute. Concord then followed the same path as many early American cities. With the introduction of cotton mills and the growth of rail transportation, industry made Concord a relatively successful and lively city in the late 19th century. Concord today is home to 60,000 residents, as well as several large manufacturers and a healthy retail industry. Concord is located in northern Cabarrus County, near the intersection of U.S. routes 601 and 29 and south of I-85. By car, Concord is 30 miles northeast of Charlotte and 150 miles west of Raleigh. Though it still maintains aspects of small-town life, Concord describes itself as progressive. The city is proud to house convenient facilities like the Concord Regional Airport, Cabarrus Memorial Hospital and Frank Liske Park. City residents and visitors can enjoy a variety of outdoor activities at Frank Liske Park, including fishing, paddleboats, hiking, jogging, tennis and miniature golf. Other recreational options include the Carowind theme park or the Lowe’s Motor Speedway in Charlotte. Concord students attend the Cabarrus County school district, which operates 29 schools from pre-kindergarten to 12th grade. Real estate in Concord is affordable, with single-family homes, townhouses and condominiums priced to fit any lifestyle, however modest or lavish.
